OACETT’s certification processes set the standard for engineering technicians and technologists in Ontario. Certified OACETT members follow a Code of Ethics, write a Professional Practice Exam and have had their education and work experience evaluated to ensure that they meet specific national standards.
OACETT works with government to advocate that regulations and legislation include engineering technicians and technologists where appropriate. A number of regulatory initiatives now include certified members.
Being a member of OACETT affords members networking and professional development opportunities. Members can use OACETT’s Record of Continuous Learning, an electronic professional development program which allows them to document their important continuous learning activities. Certified members can hold elected office with the Association and all members can volunteer with their local chapter.
Members receive
The Ontario Technologist magazine six times a year. The magazine is the course of the latest information on trend and best practices in engineering technology.
Our Corporate Partnerships team, Trishia Smith-Tedoldi and Alex Miller, are always available to discuss how OACETT membership for your employees can benefit you. Please contact Trishia at
